Violet (Martin) Weyant, 88, of Alum Bank, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Donahoe Manor.
She was born on May 3, 1933 in Lovely; daughter of the late James A. and Laura C. (Smith) Martin.
She was married to Elvin Weyant for 60 years, who preceded her in death on September 6, 2010.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harry and Kenneth Sr.
She is survived by her children, Gary Weyant of New Paris; Cindy Crawford and her late husband, Leroy; 2 grandchildren, Charleen Watson and April Weyant; 5 great- grandchildren; and 3 favorite nieces, Lois Allison, Linda Anthony, and Freida Rabaut.
Violet attended the Alum Bank United Methodist Church. She worked at Bennett’s Motel in Bedford, the Quality Inn, and then became a custodian at the Chestnut Ridge School District. She loved to work in her garden and in her flower beds. She would enjoy sitting on her front porch in the summertime and watch the hummingbirds. She was a good cook and liked to bake. She made a big meal every Sunday for the whole family. Family was very important to her, and she loved her kids and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 14th, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Shane Siciliano officiating at the Alum Bank United Methodist Church.
Interment will be at the Pavia Cemetery.
