Thelma M. Wentz, 91, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 28, 2020 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born on February 14, 1929 in Cairnbrook, Pa; daughter of the late Earl and Lena (Corle) Brown. She was raised by her grandparents, George and Rachel Miller.

On May 12, 1947, she married Gene M. Wentz, in Winchester, Va, he preceded her in death on May 8, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; brothers, Earl Brown, Gerald, Sheldon, Bernard; sister, Violet; and special niece, Kathryn Walter.

She is survived by her children, Joyce and husband Dan Felix of Mechanicsburg; Doug Wentz of Florida; Sue and husband Jay Speicher of Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Shawn, Kirk, Chip, Melissa, and Robert; 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Connie and Belvadine of Alliance, Ohio.

Thelma was a member of the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren. She was a church clerk, Sunday school teacher, and Deacon while a member of the church. She attended Hoover Elementary School and graduated from Pleasantville High School. She also worked at Faye’s Candies in Alum Bank.

The family would like to thank the Curryville Church of the Brethren and Deacons for the loving support of their mother.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren.

A viewing will be held Saturday, January 2, from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Neatrour and Jim Miller officiating and the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
