Sheldon R. Corle

Sheldon R. Corle, 92, of Osterburg, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, with his children by his side.
He was born on April 11, 1928, in Queen, son of Charles and Pearl (Benton) Corle.
On March 27, 1950, he married Joyce Duffy. They were married for 66 years before her death on Jan. 5, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, S. Roy Corle; daughter, Brenda McKinsey; brothers, Walt, Kenneth and Clair Corle; and sisters: Ruby Ickes, Pauline Bailey and Bracie Stiffler.
He is survived by the following children: daughter-in-law, Alice Corle of Bedford; son-in-law, George McKinsey of Dover, Pa.; son, Rodney Corle, and wife, Sheri, of New Paris; daughter, Tammie, and husband, Craig Hess, of Schellsburg; son, Dana Corle, and wife, Paula, of Fishertown; 10 grandchildren: Alex Corle; Penni Heidorn and fiancé, Kevin Frey; Amanda Naylor; Desirae and husband, Jim Melikant; Heather and husband, Matt DuFour; Tyler Corle and wife, Amber; Ryan Hess and fiancé, Amanda Young; Kyle Hess and wife, Jessie; Logan Corle and wife, Britta; and Tanner Corle; 13 great-grandchildren: Erica; Eli; Angel, Isaac, Grace, and Samuel; Jarrett and Kaydence; Carsyn; Zeke, Jade, and Laney; and Wesley; brothers: Ray Corle of Osterburg and Ted Corle, married to Miriam, of New Paris; and sister, Mary June King of Florida.
Sheldon attended the St. Peters Lutheran Church. He retired as a logger from Houseworth Lumber Co. and then was East St. Clair Township supervisor and finally a security guard for Pinkerton.
Sheldon always valued his family above all else and worked hard all his life. He instilled his work ethics in his children. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ray Short officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Osterburg Cemetery.
