Sandra Davis died June 19, 2024 after a short illness. She was born in Mason City, Ill., on Jan 27,1936. Her family moved to Pennsylvania, after living in Tennessee and Arkansas. She met Gary Davis in Pleasantville and married him in 1952. He preceded her in death in 2018. After raising 5 children, she returned to school and attained a Masters degree in library science. She was the head librarian at Claysburg Library for several years. She and Gary also lived in Florida for several years, where she was the head librarian at the Charlotte Library in Englewood, Fla.
She is survived by her younger sister, Marcia Porterfield (Randy), and four children: Cynthia Davis, Vicki Davis (Jeff), Shawn Davis and Lori Rissler (Randy); her oldest son, Gary Davis, died in 2017. She leaves behind seven grandchildren: Shawn Davis, Sarah Thomas (Justin), Rebecca Davis, Anthony Duncan, Jessica Duncan, Scott Rissler (Angela), Elijah Rissler, and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was devoted to her family, which included many dogs and cats over the years. She also loved books and red Corvettes. She had a wonderful sense of humor; her infectious laugh is a comforting memory for her family.
