Samuel McIntyre,92, of Bedford, passed away on September 4th, 2018 at Colonial Courtyard, Bedford.
He was born on December 9th, 1925 in Defiance, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late John Bruce McIntrye and Mary McCabe.
He is survived by a sister, Sue Kronenwetter of St. Mary’s Pennsylvania; Nephews, Dr. Tom Otis and wife Marilyn, Michael Otis and wife Joan, and niece Mary Otis. Great nephews, Tom M. Otis, Matt Otis & Jeremy Otis.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Otis, Vivian Ripton, Betsy Ripton, Mary Moyle and brother Norbert McIntyre.
Sam served in the Navy for 4 years during WWII and recounts these years as the most satisfying years of his life. He was an electrician and worked at Gleason’s in Rochester, New York before retiring to Bedford. Sam loved to read and was an amateur radio enthusiast. He was a member of the American Legion in Bedford and will be missed by all. He was a great animal lover, especially his recently deceased cat, Macadoodle.
Sam was a member of the St. Thomas parish. A Private ceremony will be held for family.The family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Courtyard and Grane Hospice.
