Ruby H. Barefoot, 86, of Imler, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

She was born on June 17, 1936 in Roaring Spring; daughter of the late Earl and Clara (Smith) Hengst.

On November 21, 1957 she married Ronald Barefoot, who preceded her in death on October 19, 1994.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by two sons, Donnie and Duane.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslie and husband David Fickes of Imler; two grandchildren, Ryan and wife Nikki Fickes of Queen, and Kevin and wife Ashlan Fickes of Bedford; 4 grandchildren, Callan, Maddyn, Jack, and Lincoln; and brother-in-law, Luther Dodson.

Ruby graduated from Claysburg High School. She was a Postmaster in Imler; she also was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Imler. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, December 18th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 19 at 11 a.m., with Pastor James Neatrour officiating at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Imler.

Interment will be held at the St. Mark’s Cemetery.
