Roland Ellis Weyant, 86, of Fishertown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on April 28, 1931, in Reynoldsdale, son of Raymond Clarence and Twyla Catherine (Ellis) Weyant.
He is preceded in death by his parents; also spouse Erma Ruthe (McCreary) Weyant; former spouse, Viola Manges; brother Curtis Weyant; brother Robert (Muss) Weyant; and sister Barbara Hahn.
Roland is survived by his children, Debbie Burrell, wife of Richard of Delaware; Gail Glessner of Niagara Falls, NY; Jenny “Vee” Hagen of Bedford, PA; Denton Weyant, husband of Billie Jo of Garrett, PA; Trudy Barefoot, wife of Rick Barefoot of Alum Bank, PA; Kerry Weyant of North Tonawanda, NY; Rita Weyant, wife of Tom Adinolfi of Warrenton, VA; Rhea Corle, fiancé of Kenny Price, Everett, PA; Rachael Begley, wife of Bryan of Kentucky. Also survived by siblings Dale Weyant and Ray Weyant of Bedford, PA; Doris Michelson of Carlisle, PA and Carl Weyant of Reynoldsdale, PA. Survived also by 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Beloved father and friend who enjoyed his time with all. His gift of wit and humor was shared with everyone he met. No one was a stranger. He was an avid fisherman, sportsman, and a great turkey hunter and caller. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great source of pride and pleasure for him. “There will never be another Rollie”.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, September 4, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 5, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Fishertown Cemetery.
