Robert M. Rider, 83, of 1620 Barefoot Rd. Alum Bank, formerly of Mechanicsburg, Pa died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Bedford Memorial Hospital.

He was born on March 12, 1932, the son of the late Richard and Dorothy (Stone) Rider of Mechanicsburg, Pa.

He was married to the late Mary (Barger) Rider of Mechanicsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Geraldine R. (Rider) Mock; and a brother-in-law W. Paul Mock of Alum Bank.

He is survived by nieces, Lois (Mock) Dull married to Harry Dull and Kay (Mock) Dull married to Joseph Dull both of Alum Bank; and a nephew, Richard Mock of Johnstown.

Friends and family will be received at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home Monday, Aug. 24, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., with Sister Rebecca Clark officiating.

Interment will be at the Mount Zion Cemetery, Carlisle, Pa.
