Robert Edmund McVicker, 77, of Alum Bank, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at home.

He was born on October 13, 1940, in Windber; son of Robert “Bud” and Beatrice (Simmons) McVicker.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Kenneth and Dennis McVicker.

He is survived by his wife, Erika (Scherle) McVicker; children, Richard and wife Melanie (Mock) McVicker of New Paris; Robert and wife Kenda (Way) McVicker of Alum Bank; Heidi and husband Steve Roudabush of Alum Bank; 5 grandchildren, Steven Roudabush Jr. and wife Danessa (Day), Bryce McVicker; Kelly McVicker; Eric McVicker; and Katie Roudabush; and sister, Diane Piras of Alum Bank.

Robert was an entrepreneur, business man, and was very successful at everything he did.  He started Bob’s Custom Carpets in 1965 in Geistown, and ran it for 30 plus years. In 1979 he started Clover Leaf Nursery in Geistown, and in 1989 he opened Remm Supply Furniture Store in Cessna.  He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him and his dog, Ben.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. A private service will be held for the family on Saturday, Oct. 28,2017.
