Robert died peacefully at his home in Osterburg, Pa. on Tuesday February 15,2022 as he went home to be with The Lord. Robert was born on January 14,1935. He is survived by his long term partner Kimberly Deremer, sisters Helen Miller and Barbara Kranzler(Larry) both of California, Daughter Sharon (Robert) of Limerick Pa., Grandchildren, Nate Carter(Casey),Cassie Carter (Charles), Chuck Hinton(Kristen), and Joe Hinton(Alisha), Great Grand Children, Mykenzie, Gavin, Elijah, Grayson, Alex and Elizabeth. He will also be greatly missed by his faithful dog Emmy.
He was preceded in death by his son Martin Hinton.
He worked for Sun Oil in Buffalo before going back to college and earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from SUNY Buffalo, then moving back to Osterburg to open the Osterburg Country Store of which he operated for 36 years. Robert liked to hunt, garden and enjoyed being outside whenever possible. He also liked to spend time in Florida with Kim in the winter months. Robert always took the time to talk with all his friends, customers and to help whenever possible.
Robert was a dedicated Free Mason. He was initiated at the former Occidental Lodge in Buffalo , NY in 1967 where he was Wirshipful Master of Occidental Lodge in 1975 and obtained the 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite.
Service and Burial will be private for family members. In Lieu of Flowers please make contributions to American Heart Association.
