Robert Earl Bowser
Osterburg
Robert (Bob) Earl Bowser, 86, of Osterburg, passed into the hands of the Heavenly Father at home with his family by his side on December 7, 2014.
Mr. Bowser was born near Osterburg on October 12, 1928. He was the son of the late William E. and J. Bernice (Mock) Bowser. He married Mary E. (Mervin) Bowser on March 2, 1953.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary of 61 years; two sons, Earl R. Bowser (fiancé Debbie), Stephen W. and wife Jane Bowser; one sister Dorothy Evelyn Stasny; six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffery Michael Bowser, sister, Ethel Kniseley, and one great granddaughter Dedra Bowser.
Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He obtained the rank of Corporal. He was employed as a truck driver and a parts clerk throughout his life and retired from Ward Trucking in Altoona.
Bob was a lifelong member of the Trinity Reform Church in Osterburg. He served on the church consistory, church elder, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and Sunday school superintendent. He also served as a scout master for Boy Scout Troop 175 in Osterburg.
Friends and family will be received at the Trinity Reform Church in Osterburg from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014 and on December 9, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charles Miller officiating, at the Trinity Reform Church.
Interment at the Reform Church Cemetery, Osterburg.
