Robert Burton Barger, 80, of Bloomsburg, passed away December 31, 2019 at his home.

He was born on September 1, 1939 in Whitesburgh, Pa; son of the late William and Mabel M. (Blose) Barger.

He married Leona Barger, who preceded him in death on October 14, 1984.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona; girlfriend, Margaret Thomas; and 2 brothers.

He is survived by the following family; children, Dave and wife Vicky Barger of Osterburg; Sudan and husband Doug Mitchell of New Paris; Brian Barger of Osterburg; his girlfriend’s children, Jerry (Michele) Thomas; Jeffrey (Krista) Thomas; grandchildren, Savana Barger, Shawne Mitchell, Jerry Rae (McKenzie Morgan), Karie; great-grandchildren, Jase, Owen, and Kason; and brother, Don Barger.

Robert was a member of the Moose, American Legion, and VFW. He served in the United States Army from 1962-1968.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, January 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Tuesday, January 7 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Charlie Miller Officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.

Military Rites accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Interment will be at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
