Richard N. “Rick” Imler, 69, of Schellsburg, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at home.
He was born on October 29, 1952 in Anchorage, Alaska; son of the late, Darl and D. Marie (Claycomb) Imler.
On June 15, 1996, Rick married Lita Christine “Chris” (McCreary) Imler in Charleston, S.C. at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in the oldest existing formal garden in the states, designed in 1644, among the giant Magnolias gardenias.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Brandi Jo Imler.
He is survived by his wife, Chris; two grandsons, Logan Dick of East Freedom; and Isaiah Mangum of Schellsburg and his friend special Serena Miller; brother, Joseph Q. Imler and wife Linda (Hengst) of Sterling, VA; nephew, Joseph Q. Imler II (Mary) of Sterling, VA; niece Nikki Imler Velasco (Alex) of Charlestown, WV; sister, Barbara Saturnino (Dennis) of Park City Utah; nephew, Matthew Hilt; nieces Lindsey Hilt Levinathol and Megan Hilt Augusta. He was also a great-great Uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Rick was an IT Supervisor with G.H.I. Blue Cross and Blue Shield and then at Care First of Maryland, Blue Cross and Blue Shield when they merged. He was very proud to retire from Blue Cross and Blue Shield after 47 years with the same company where he started at the age of 17. Rick was very devoted and also serious about his job. He was a devoted and very reliable husband, father, grandfather, and son as well. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, June 25th from 11 a.m. until the hour of the memorial service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Charlie Miller officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, 4305 Quaker Valley Rd. Alum Bank, Pa 15521.
