Opal M. Sipes, 81, of Alum Bank, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born on May 2, 1934, in Roaring Spring, the daughter of the late Byron and Tressa (Dively) Corle.

On March 10, 1953, she married Robert Sipes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Brother, Wilfred Corle.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Judy, widow of Jesse Finnegan of Osterburg; Jeffrey and wife Sandy Sipes of New Paris; Eric and wife Sonia Sipes of Schellsburg; sister, Joann Smith of Lovely; 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; two nieces, Leslie Weyant and Angela Harbaugh; and a nephew Bill Smith.

Opal was of the Protestant Faith. She was a Pittsburgh Steeler and NASCAR fan. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family will be received Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, with Pastor James Neatrour officiating.

Interment will be at the Upper Claar Cemetery.
