Opal J. (Ellis) Shroyer Feather

Opal Feather, 87, of Imler, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Conemaugh Hospital.
She was born on March 24, 1928 in Weyant, the daughter of the late Clair and Pearl (Brown) Ellis.
On April 7, 1946, she married Robert Shroyer who preceded her in death on July 4, 1970.
In 1989 she married Gerald Feather and he preceded her in death in January of 2006.
She is preceded in death by siblings, Ford, Melba, Marguerite, and Hartzel. Also a great grandson, Andrew. She was the last surviving member of her family.
She is survived by four children; Sara Kay, married to James Blattenberger of Bedford; Judy Marguerite, married to Charles Smith of Osterburg; Bobbi Lynn, married to Dean Blattenberger of Bedford; Eddie, married to the former Vicki (Suter) Shroyer of Imler; 7 grandchildren, Christine, Jeremy, Michael, Bradley, Ryan, Marc, and Ashley; 12 great grandchildren and one on the way; 5 great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great- grandchild.
Opal was an owner and operator of Opal's Beauty Shop and Opal's Sweets & Things. She was known for miles around for her baked goods and candies. She held other various jobs as well. She was a member of the Weyant United Methodist Church and a former member of the Rebecca Lodge. She was a great mother and grandmother, she will be sadly missed.
Friends and family will be received Monday, July 13, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home; following the viewing there will be a private graveside service at the Fishertown Cemetery, with Pastor Jeff Ling Officiating.
