Mona Lafferty Obituary

Mona Lee Lafferty

Buffalo Mills

Mona Lee Lafferty, 89, of Buffalo Mills, peacefully stepped into the arms of God at 10:49 a.m. on December 14, 2021 with her daughter by her side.

She was born on September 18, 1932 in Hyndman; daughter of the late Walter and Leona (Albright) Elliott.

On November 5, 1955, she married Fred Lafferty, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2014.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; son, Lester; brother, Jimmy Elliott; grandsons, Matthew and Michael.

She is survived by her children, Freddie and wife Brenda (Fitzpatrick) Lafferty; Faith and husband Norman Rose; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Lafferty; 4 grandchildren, Charity, Hope, Heather, and Norman; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Mona attended the Bible Gospel Church in Hyndman. She did house cleaning for many years and worked at Cannondale. You could always find her doing one of her favorite things, reading her Bible or playing her piano or her organ. She played for her church for many years. She looked forward to her long rides through the country with her best friend Charles (Mr. B) Bingman.

Her favorite saying when she was finished talking was God Bless you. Her favorite Bible verse which she will no longer have to say is from Rev. 22:20, He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

The family would like to extend a Thank You to Heartland Hospice and Rebecca’s Personal Care Home for outstanding care.

At the request of Mona, there will be no viewing. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
