Melvin K. Martin, 60, of Alum Bank, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at UPMC Altoona.

He was born on January 28, 1956 in Bedford, son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Long) Martin.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Tina Oldham.

He is survived by his son Kenneth and wife Heather Martin of Bedford; a grandson, Brayden; brothers, Kelvin and wife Deb Martin of Alum Bank; Galen and wife Annie Martin of St. Michael,Pa; and sister, Christine Martin of Alum Bank.

Melvin adored his grandson and loved to work in his garage. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday June 10, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11 a.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, with Pastor Kurt Knobel officiating.

Interment will be at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
