Melvin R. Claycomb, 83, of Imler, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home.
He was born on June 27, 1937; son of the late Irvin R. Claycomb and Minnie J. (Stiegers) Ravenscraft.
On July 19, 1956, he married Phyllis M. (Allison) Claycomb.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Claycomb; brother, Dervin Claycomb; half-brothers, John William Claycomb and Zane Claycomb.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Melvin L. Claycomb of Imler; Randy S. Claycomb of Imler; Scott Claycomb of Gates, N.C.; and Angela J. Lafferty of Imler; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; half-brother, Donald Claycomb of Schellsburg; half-sisters, Gloria Gonsman of Claysburg; Marilyn Lemin; Brenda Claycomb of Schellsburg; and Cindy Claycomb.
Melvin was a member of the Community Bible Church in Imler. He was an amazing example for his family of how to be a great husband, father, and grandfather. He was well known in the community for helping anyone in need. He was a mechanical wiz and loved working in the garage daily.
