Mary V. (Ferguson) Hinson

Mary V. (Ferguson) Hinson, 99, of Osterburg, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at home.
She was born on June 13, 1917, in Napier Twp., the daughter of the late Henry and Effie (Mitchell) Ferguson.
On January 15, 1935, she married H. Floyd Hinson, who preceded her in death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; sons, Fred and James; sisters, Dora Fisher, Alice Miller, Almeda Miller; brothers, Harry and Bob; two infant siblings, Elsie and Clay; and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by the following children, Glenn and wife Pat Hinson of Osterburg; Carol, wife of the late Bob Rhoades of Bedford; Donna and husband Alan Nycum of East Freedom; Herb Hinson of Dover, Pa; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ida Swindell; and daughter- in-law Peggy Hinson. Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mary was a member of the Weyant United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and Weyant Ladies Aide. She was a Sunday school teacher, loved to cook, sang in the choir and in the Gospel 5. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Florida. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July, 6, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Mackey and Gary Blankley officiating, at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
