Linda M. Garrett Morgart
New Paris
Linda M. Garrett Morgart, 66, of New Paris, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at The Village of Morrison’s Cove.
She was born on May 31, 1950, in Colver, daughter of the late Charles “Charlie” Lucas and Elmira LaRue (Stiles)(Lucas) Johnson.
On May 23, 2015, she married Gary Morgart.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles and ex-husband, Alvie Garrett;
She is survived by her husband and mother; son, Michael Garrett and wife Angie (Swindell) of Alum Bank; sister, Donna Morgan and husband Dan of North Carolina; grandsons, Cameron and Carter; step-children, Brenda and husband Rick Barefoot; Gary and wife Carla Morgart; Kristina and husband Greg Walker; and Dustin and wife Katrina Morgart; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend Mona Simpson and husband Don.
Linda was an RN that worked for MHMR and various podiatrists around the area. She formerly sold Avon in Pleasantville/Ryot area. She was a member of the Alum Bank United Methodist Church and a lifelong Sunday school teacher there. Happily, Linda’s last years were spent with Gary who showered her with the attention and love she deserved-she was taken away from him far too soon. She enjoyed spending time with her mother, sister, her grandsons, tending to her fishpond, and cleaning things that did not need cleaned. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kurtis Knobel officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
