Linda Kinsey Obituary

Linda K. Kinsey, 67, of Osterburg, PA, went home to be with the Lord, passing peacefully in her sleep, on Friday November 11, 2022.  She was born Linda Kay Beard, to the late Charles D. Beard and Ada Elmira ‘Mary” Beard on May 31, 1955.

She married Thomas Kinsey, Sr. of Osterburg on December 7, 1994, but sadly lost her soul mate in 2021.  Anyone who knew Linda and Tom, can attest that they were “two peas in a pod.”  As much as she enjoyed life, she looked forward to seeing her husband again in heaven.

She was also previously married to Gerald “Jerry” J. Stiver, Sr. of 58th Street in Altoona, out of high school, on August 28, 1973.  She tragically lost her first love to cancer in July of 1988.

Surviving are two children, Gerald J. Stiver, Jr. (wife Donna) of Lebanon, PA and Sherry D. Smith (husband Kelly) of Portage; grandchildren: Dylan-Thomas Stiver, Alyssa Stiver, Drake Stiver, Hunter Stiver-Smith, Kelly (Smith) Delozier, Angelica Smith and Alyssa “Munchkin” Custer and her siblings (children of Thomas Kinsey, Jr.); 4 great grandchildren, and a sister Karen (Beard) Machart of Minnesota, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved Yorky “Charlie Rose”.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jane Cruse, Shirley Snyder, and Robert Beard.

Linda attended Hollidaysburg Senior High School and spent her youth attending the Foot of Ten Bible Church in Duncansville.  She loved being a mom and especially loved art projects.  She also spent years as an active member at the Altoona Volunteer Sportsman Club hunting, shooting, and enjoying time with her first husband, Jerry.  She most enjoyed the shotgun shoots, where she was known to win often.

Later in life, she enjoyed being a full-time wife and grandmother.  She loved taking afternoon motorcycle rides with her husband, Tom.  She was famous with her grandkids for “cinnamon twisties” and spent beach-time with her family in the Outer Banks, NC.  She also loved camping with friends, Holidays with her grandkids, feeding the deer on her property and Conway Twitty.  Most of all, she just enjoyed talking with friends for hours or entire evenings.

At her own request, there will be no formal service, but a celebration of life is being planned for the weekend of June 3rd, 2023 in Hollidaysburg, PA.  Information on the event will be shared with family and friends, via Facebook, closer to the event.
