Pastor Laurence "Larry" Steven Bartholomew

     Larry Bartholomew,62, of New Paris, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 1, 2014 at home.  He was Born on March 21st, 1952 in Canandaigua, NY, the son of Allan and Lorraine (Bucknam) Bartholomew.

On May 11, 1985 Larry married his beloved wife Kathleen Schramm, whom he met in seminary.

He is survived by his parents, wife Kathleen, three children, Steven of New Paris; Joanna of New Paris; and Timothy of Fishertown. Two grandchildren, Aleya and Ian of York, Pa; a brother, Mark (Pattye McFanney) of Rochester, NY and two sisters, Beth (John Bishopp) of Macedon, NY and Laura (Ed Goeller Jr.) of Ontario, NY, and several nieces and nephews and many cousins.

He graduated from Palmyra-Macedon High School in Palmyra, NY 1970, from Grahm Junior College in Boston, MA in 1972, from SUNY in Geneseo, NY in 1975; from Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, MD in 1983; He was ordained by Webster Bible Church in Webster, NY in 1983. Before attending seminary, he was a sports writer for the Newark Courier-Gazette in Newark, NY.

Larry and family served as missionaries in Brazil from 1992-2000, training national pastors and serving as a pastor. Upon returning home, he was an interim pastor at Palmyra Reformed Church in Palmyra, NY.

He moved to the Fishertown area to be the pastor of Fishertown Community Bible Church from 2003-2011. He was also a substitute teacher at Chestnut Ridge High School and Middle School from 2006-2011. He then served as a pastor at Mt. Union Christian Church in Mench from 2012-2014. He also worked a year at the Fishertown Country Store.  Larry loved The Lord above all else and His Word. 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Crossroads Bible Church (formerly Heartland Hall) in Bedford, with Pastor Mark Dillow officiating. Interment is at the Fishertown Cemetery.
