Joyce Helsel, 87, of Imler, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
She was born on July 4, 1938 in Saxton; daughter of the late Willard and Louella (Houp) Himes.
On October 31, 1959, she married the love of her life, Robert Helsel. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family, faith, and devotion to one another.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Blair, Kitty, Kay, Nancy, Eddie; and her son, David.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert; son, Steve Helsel of Imler; two grandchildren, Amanda and husband Shane Hillegass of Freeport, Pa; Katie and husband Craig Cannon of Audubon, IA; three great-grandchildren, Kolter, Kyler, and Kayden; sisters, Ann Crouse and Norma Jean Singer.
Joyce cherished her family above all else, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She had a special love for hummingbirds and the peaceful moments spent watching them. She loved transforming inside and outside of her home for every holiday. She enjoyed traveling and taking many trips, making lasting memories. Joyce was adored and loved by everyone and was a social butterfly everywhere she went. Her love and gentle kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, November 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 25th at 11 a.m. with Kathy Speck officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at the Greenfield Cemetery.
