John Ambrose Oldham

John Ambrose Oldham, 84, of Fishertown, went Home to Jesus on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at home.
John was born on January 8, 1940 in Bedford; son of the late Clement and Catherine (Myers) Oldham.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Sellers) Oldham, of 63 years; six children, Karen (Tyrus) Wilson of Shermans Dale; Bonnie (Rick) Cornell of Bedford; Cindy (Rick) Otto of Schellsburg; Daniel Oldham of Fishertown; Susan (Troy) Mickle of Bedford; and Bobbi (Matthew) Steele of Hopewell; twelve grandchildren, Amanda Oldham, Greg Oldham, Katti Wilson, Cory Oldham, Marri (Wilson) English, Amy (Oldham) Seeley, Johnathon Henry, Dakota Cornell, Dvan Cornell, Zackery Mickle, Kaleb Mickle, and Audrey Steele; and fourteen great-grandchildren with two more on the way. He is also survived by brothers, Ralph and Glenn Oldham; sister, Joyce (Oldham) Lehman, and foster sister Anna Mae (Oldham) Zinn.
He was preceded in death by his daughters-in-law, Joyce Cole Oldham and Svitlana Oldham.
John was a farmer his whole life. He had been employed by Lane Metal, East St. Clair Township, and New Enterprise Stone and Lime, from which he retired. John was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, and former member of the Lions Club. John served on the board for Bedford Rural Electric Co-Op for 6 years.
John loved spending time with his many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He went on several mission trips through the years, and a family trip to Israel in 1993.
The family would like to thank our “adopted” sister Jada Kagarise who was John’s Hospice nurse for the past 2 years.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, June 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, and on Friday, June 28 from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.
Interment at the Fishertown Cemetery.
