John P. Kohler, 68, of Pavia, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, September 5, 2020.

He was born on August 12, 1952, in Johnstown; son of John Francis and Patricia (Neal) Kohler.

On December 16, 1972, he married Cathy (Whysong) Kohler.

He is preceded in death by his father, and sister, Peggy Claycomb.

He is survived by his mother; son, Johnny and wife Leeann (Mock) Kohler of Pavia; grandson, John Allen and wife Carly (Straub) Kohler; granddaughters, Marybeth and Kirsten; special niece Leslie Urish; brothers, David and companion Linda Weaver; Jim and wife Lori (Clark) Kohler; Regis and wife Ida (McIntyre) Kohler; Fred and wife Lisa (Hartland) Kohler; sister, Sue and husband Gregory Wingard; brother-in-law Jeffrey Claycomb;  2 nephews, Phillip and Michael Miller; and Johnny’s friends, Michael Feathers and Joe Cox.

John started as a Park Ranger at Cowan’s Gap in McConnellsburg, then went to Blue Knob and ran Babcock Lodge in Ogletown, then he went to the Game Commission for several Blair County offices. He and his brother Fred, ran Kohler Construction and he was a licensed electrician and plumber. He played 3rd base along with his brother Fred playing short stop for Pavia and Mickel’s softball teams for many years. He enjoyed hunting, especially muzzle loading season, and golfing with Uncle Mike, Johnny, and Joe. He loved working on cars with his son, Johnny. The thing he enjoyed the most was helping people. He will be missed by all who knew him.
