With deep sorrow, we announce the loss of Joseph Q. Imler of Sterling, VA who died January 29, 2026. He was 81.
Joe was born March 28, 1944 in Imler, PA to Darl S. & Marie Imler. Following his graduation in 1965 from Central Missouri State University, Joe began his career at Blue Cross & Blue Shield in DC & then Geico in Bethesda, MD, in systems education dept.
He was a 50+ year member of Community Lutheran Church. He was also active with the Sterling Park Jaycees, a life time member, the Sterling Lions Club, receiving the highest honor, Melvin Jones Fellow award, Chairman of the Loudoun Parks & Rec, Chairman of The Board for Transportation Federal Credit Union, the Lots of Luck Bass Club & Loudoun County Bassmasters, & TBF Region 1.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Linda “Hengst” Imler of 58 years, his children Joseph Q. Imler II (and wife Mary) of Sterling, VA & Nicole (husband Alex) of Charles Town, WV. 7 grandchildren Zachary, Brady(Anna), Hunter (Abby), Jacob (Vanessa) Justina, Matthew & Michael, 5 great grandchildren Damian, Jayden, Amelia, Melody & Axel. His surviving sister Barbara Saturnino (husband Denny) of Park City, UT, sister in laws Nellie Smith of Imler, PA, Christine Imler of Shellsburg & Carol Hengst of Hazelton, PA along with numerous nieces & nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents & brother Richard Imler.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday February 4, 2026 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA The family will then see friends from 6-8pm on Friday February 6, 2026 at J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home 4305 Quaker Valley Rd. Alum Bank, PA 15521 A funeral service will take place Saturday February 7, 2026 at 12 p.m. at Saint Paul's Church 1338 South Imler Valley Rd Imler, PA 16655 with interment to follow at Imler Valley Cemetery.
