Joan H. Miller, 89, of New Paris, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born on June 12, 1936 in Windber; daughter of the late Raymond and Ivadine (Mechtley) Hobba.

On October 21, 1961, she married Ray Miller, who preceded her in death on August 5, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; son, Craig Miller; brothers, Gerald and Richard Hobba; sisters, Gwendolyn Seese and Marion Streletz.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Sharon and husband Raymond Webb; two grandchildren, Alisha and husband Jason McDaniel; Haley Webb; brothers, Kenneth and wife Patricia Hobba; Barry and wife Rosemary Hobba; Curtis and wife Deborah Hobba; and sister, Wanda Joyce.

Joan worked many years working in the cafeteria at the Chestnut Ridge School District until she retired in 1991. She also worked at the Army Navy store in Bedford. She loved reading, canning, and always taking care of her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 21 at 11 a.m. at the Horne Methodist Church, Alum Bank, with Matthew Tidman officiating.
