"Jim" Raymond James Peters, 90, formerly of New Paris, passed away on December 14, 2020 at Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown.

He was born on June 24, 1930 in Johnstown; son of the late Arthur Robert Peters and Mary A. (Byers) Peters.

On October 18, 1953, he married LaVerne E. (Brumbaugh) Peters.

He is survived by his children, Deborah E. and Edward Duarte of Bensalem, PA; Daniel James Peters of New Paris; Sandra Lynn Shetler of Hanahan, SC; Mark Thomas and wife Patricia (Fowler) Peters of Hanahan, SC; 3 grandchildren, Adam and wife Deanna Duarte; James Everett Peters; Matthew Thomas Peters; 2 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Emily Duarte; niece, Nancy Simmons; nephew, Jeff Peters.

Jim served in the Air Force for 4 years, US Air Force Airman 2nd Class, and received 2 medals, National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
