Jeffrey Byers, 69, of Alum Bank, passed away on December 3, 2023 at his home.
He was born on July 4, 1954, in Woodbury; son of the late Clyde K. and Audrey (Hinish) Byers.
On August 21, 1974, he married Cindy (Ringler) Byers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Richard Shaffer.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Cindy; 2 daughters, Kali Byers (Allison); and Kari Schofield (Brandon); brother, Troy Byers (Robbin) of Tyrone; sisters, Karen Shaffer of Woodbury and Sharon Wolbert (Sam) of Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeffrey was a member of the Sloan’s Hollow Church. He was a council member on the Borough. He loved hunting, fishing, Pittsburgh Penguins, sports, coaching softball, helping at the Pleasantville ball fields. The most cherished of his hobbies was watching his oldest daughter play softball and his youngest daughter dance. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, Dec. 6th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7th at 11 a.m. with Pastor Virgil Frazier officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
