James Robert Moore, 92, of New Paris, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at home.

He was born on October 29, 1931 in Osterburg; son of the late James Ira and Gladys Virginia (Diehl) Moore.

James married Geraldine J. (Sheirer) Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, James and Kenny Moore; grandson, David Moore; brothers, Bill and Tom Moore; infant sister, Milda; sisters, Betty and Shirley.

James is survived by his daughter, Wendy Emery; brother, Jack Moore; and sisters, Nancy Barefoot and Connie Harbaugh; 8 grandchildren, Kendra, Amy, Hope, Ivy, Clay, Colt, Cory and Tyler; 5 great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Taylor, Lukas, Violet, and Sawyer Grace.  

James served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed his grandchildren and woodworking. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, May 11 from 1 p.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Ethan Shearer officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.

Military Rites accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Interment at the Fishertown Cemetery.
