James R. MacIntyre

James R. MacIntyre, 85, of Alum Bank, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
He was born on February 25, 1941, in Alum Bank; son of the late William Paul and June Elizabeth (Shaffer) MacIntyre.
On November 14, 1963 he married the love of his life, Mary “Nancy” Eilene (Feathers) MacIntyre, who preceded him in death on April 16, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; sister, Shirley Nunamaker and brother, William Paul MacIntyre Jr.
James in survived by his children, Winona Eilene Gorman and husband Gregory; James Robert MacIntyre II and wife Kristina; and Julie Ann Griffith; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Patricia Rich, Carol Wendell, John MacIntyre, Sandy Whysong, Ray MacIntyre, Linda MacIntyre, Dan MacIntyre, Sarah Weyant, and Ida Kohler.
James was a devoted family man who loved the Lord and his family dearly. He attended Pennwood Bible Church and worked as a civil engineer Professor at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time at the beach. James had a gift for fixing and designing just about anything. He deeply missed his wife, but she remained close in his heart. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. Also on Friday, May 15th at 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at Pennwood Bible Church, 440 Hospital Drive, Everett, with Pastor Jonathan Hoard officiating.
Interment will be at the Lovely Cemetery.
