Jack Carson, 89,  of Alum Bank, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.

He was born on May 12, 1932, in Ryot; son of the late Thomas and Gladys (Mock) Carson.

On August 19, 1960, he married Mary Jane (Horvath) Carson, who preceded him in death on October 2, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jane; granddaughter, Brandiee; numerous brothers and sisters; and daughter in law, Carol.

He is survived by his children, Wayne and wife Tonya Carson of Bedford; Sue and husband Don Trindle of Homer City; Joann and Paul Fischer of Alum Bank; Donna and husband Donald Keel of Alum Bank; Mark Carson of Bedford; Darlyne and husband Tom Malec of Schellsburg; Eric and wife Ruth Carson of Bolivia; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Carson and wife Paulene of Alum Bank; and sisters, Shirley Mae Rollason of Claysburg and Violet and husband Franklin Layton of Alum Bank.

Jack served in the Army during the Korean War. He was an original member of the Buckeye Hunting camp, and a member of the Pleasantville VFW. He worked at Berwind Railway Carshop. He was also a volunteer Alum Bank firefighter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, checkers, shuffleboard, time at the Buckeye hunting camp, and spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A private service will be held due to COVID restrictions.

Interment will be at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
