Helen Norma (Mickey) Allison, 94, of Alum Bank, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 9, 1926 in Rummel, Pa; daughter of the late Edmund and Sarah (Mickel) Mickey.

On November 4, 1944, she married Clark Allison in Cumberland, Maryland.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Son, Duane Allison; Grandson, Donald Finnegan;  Son-In-Law, Joseph Miller; Daughter-In-Law, Beverly (Madasz) Allison; Brothers:  Alvin, Howard, and Glenn; and Sister, Marie McMasters.

She is survived by her children,  Emilie Miller, of Bedford; Jeanne (Ray) Belles, Alum Bank; Beverly (Mike) Gerula, of Alum Bank; Wanda Finnegan, Everett; Ron, of Salisbury; Brian, of Alum Bank; 11 Grandchildren; 32 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; 5 Step Great-Grandchildren; 2 Step Great-Great Grandchildren.

Helen is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1944. She is the founding member of the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.

Helen was dedicated to raising her children and providing care for her parents.  She held several part-time jobs throughout her life, from ammunition manufacturing during WW II to selling Avon. 

Helen enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, crocheting, collecting antiques, traveling with her husband, and researching genealogy.  She was known for her strong memory of details of family, friends, and events.   Helen will always be remembered for her strong will and loving personality.  She was appreciative of all who visited and cared for her.

At Helen’s request, funeral services will be private.

Interment will be at the Mount Union Cemetery.
