Harry R. Ritchey
New Paris
Harry R. Ritchey, 83, of New Paris, passed away on July 1, 2018 at Donahoe Manor, with his family by his side.
He was born on December 7, 1934, in Manns Choice, son of the late Jason and Viola (Miller) Ritchey.
On May 16, 1957, he married Marie D. (Musselman) Ritchey.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wanda; brothers, Bob, Simon, Sammuel, George, Thomas, and an infant brother; sisters, Evelyn Mock, Jenny Ritchey, Betty Baughman, Harriette Godfrey.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of 61 years; children, Tim Ritchey of New Paris; Randy Ritchey and wife Annette of New Paris; Matt Ritchey and wife Tammy of Manns Choice; Daniel Ritchey and wife Lorrie of New Paris; 9 grandchildren, Jason, Eric, Belinda, Randi Jo, Angela, Amanda, Matt, Danny, Kayla; 11 great- grandchildren; sisters, Fran Hillegass of Bedford, and Ann Deiffendorfer of Ohio.
Harry was a member of the Horne United Methodist Church. He delivered newspapers for 19 years after he retired from Cassler Lumber Company. Harry enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, fishing, music, farming, telling stories, and spending time with his family.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, July 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Darrel Cashdollar and Pastor John Hickman officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Military Rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
Harry will be laid to rest on the family farm.
