Gladyse V. Brown, better known as Glady to most, 73, of 883 Oppenheimer Road, Bedford, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 and is now in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, “absent from the body, present with the Lord and Savior.”

She was born on June 7, 1942 in Bedford, daughter of the late Thomas and Verna (Brown) Brown.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Delmar, Raymond, and Richard; and a sister Violet.

She is survived by a sister Erma Weyandt of Claysburg and her beloved dog Scrougie.

Glady graduated from Bedford High School in 1961 and then attended the Altoona Bible Institute. She did various church jobs in different places. She was of the Baptist faith and belonged to the Colonial Hills Baptist Church. At times she also attended the Emanuel Baptist Church and Pleasant Hill Bible Church.

Friends and family will be received at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Monday, Aug. 31, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tues. Sept. 1, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Smith and Pastor Eric Lingenfelter officiating at the Colonial Hills Baptist Church.

Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
