Galen McDannell, 77 of New Paris, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at home.

He was born on April 25, 1947 in Alum Bank; son of adopted parents, Harry E. and Charlotte (Harbaugh) McDannell; and biological parents, Russell and Lucinda (Duncan) Hillegass.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tony McDannell,  Harry Max McDannell, Harry Hillegass, Richard Berkebile; sisters, Roxanne McDannell, Vida Labuda, Dora Williams, Shirley McIntyre.

He is survived by his daughters, Bobbi Jo McDannell, Billi Jo Foor, Kathy McDannell; grandchildren, Josi Shomo, Jami Shomo, Dakota McDannell, Megan Foor; great-grandchildren, Maci Shomo, Maddox Jones, Jameson Jones, Jensen McDannell; brothers, Carl and William Hillegass.

Galen loved fishing, his grandchildren, and going to yard sales. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
