Frederick Byron Preston Sr., 91, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at home.

He was born on February 8, 1930 in Latrobe; son of the late Alvin N. Preston Sr. and Matilda Marie (Snyder) Preston.

On September 13, 1958, he married Carolyn J. (Whay) Preston.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, JoAnn and Pat.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of 63 years; children, Frederick Byron Preston Jr.; Curtis Lane Preston; Kevin Maurice Preston; Byron Matthew Preston; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alvin Jr. and Richard (Dick) Preston; sister, Joyce Whay.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 5 from 9 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Weinhold officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.

Military Rites accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
