Fred L. Lafferty, 78, of Buffalo Mills went home to be with his Lord and First born son Lester on Friday, June 27, 2014.

He was born on August 1, 1935 to the late Lester and Veda (Miller) Lafferty.

He is survived by wife Mona Lee of 59 years; Children, Freddie married to Brenda Fitzpatrick, Faith married to Norman Rose both of Buffalo Mills; Sister, Dorthy Keller of Bedford; Brothers, Melvin and Homer of Buffalo Mills; five grandchildren, four great- grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by son Lester married to Rhonda (Shaffer) Lafferty of Florida; a grandson Matthew of Florida; brother Joe of Buffalo Mills; and a sister Marcelle of Buffalo Mills.

Fred was employed by General Refactories for 20 years and a Juniata Township supervisor for 15 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, watching NASCAR racing and looking forward to his daily phone calls from his special Granddaughter Charity.

He attended the Bible Gospel Church in Hyndman.

At Fred’s request there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at the Bible Gospel Church, Hyndman, Pa on Saturday July 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Faye Leydig and Rev. Terry Elliot officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
