Faye Irene (Hillegass) Blackburn, 79, of New Paris, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Windber Medical Center.

She was born on December 25, 1938 in Napier Twp.; daughter of the late Roy C. and Blanch (Weyant) Hillegass.

On Nov. 29, 1957, she married Joseph Blackburn in Winchester, Va.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert; Forest; and Palmer.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Fait and husband Russell of Manns Choice; Joe and wife Tahmee Blackburn of Alum Bank; 4 grandchildren, Amanda married to Ben Figard; Lindsay married to Bill Kennell; Nathan Blackburn married to Kecia; Jeremy Blackburn married to Kendra;  8 great- grandchildren, Logan and Laina Haney; Billy and Dean Kennell; Nolan, McKinley, Lane, and Emma Blackburn; brother, Donald Hillegass of Alum Bank; sister, Catherine Pittman.

Faye was affiliated with the Mt. Union United Methodist Church. She was a 1957 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. Faye drove bus for 28 years with the Chestnut Ridge School District. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, June 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tai Courtemanche officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
