Ethel M. Walter, 89, formerly of Osterburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at Penn Knoll Village.

She was born on Oct. 18, 1925 in New Paris, the daughter of the late Job and Mary (Logue) Shaffer.

On Sept. 10, 1949 she married Chalmer Walter, in Winchester, Va., who preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1985.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Chalmer, son, Garry Walter, and a brother.

She is survived by two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ethel belonged to the Trinity Reformed Church of Osterburg. She loved painting and playing Bingo.

Friends and family will be received at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will he held Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Charlie Miller officiating, at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the Osterburg Cemetery.
