Fishertown
Elwood J. F. Webb, 83, of Fishertown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 27, 2015 at home.
He was born on March 24, 1932, in Ogletown, the son of the late Ralph L. Sr. and Ethel Florence (Mock) Webb.
On Oct. 20, 1952, he married Anna M. (Horvath) Webb of Windber, in Winchester, Va.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Darlyne Sciotti, Marie Fleegle, Luella Martin, Ivan Ernest Webb, Forrest Webb, Loretta Allison, Ralph Jr., Phyllis Rogers, Gene Ray Webb, and Allen Webb.
He is survived by the following family: wife, Anna M. Webb; son, Bob and wife Trena (Trail) Webb of New Paris; son, Dave and wife Betty (Beaner) Webb of New Paris; son, Duane and wife Terri (Galasso) Webb of Johnstown; daughter, Cindy and husband Garland Beam of Mt. Crawford, Va; son, Ken and wife Detra (Mowry) Webb of Manns Choice; daughter, Pam and husband Rod Manges of New Paris; daughter, Deb and husband Mark Wiley of New Paris; daughter, Gayle and husband Jamie Gorman of Warrenton, Va; brothers, Delano Webb and Dean Webb; sisters, Melva Yarnell, Evelyn Jarman, and Nancy Tomlinson; 22 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and Brenda (Kunkle) Webb of Buffalo Mills.
Elwood was a lifetime deacon of the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren and held numerous office positions in the church. He was a former member of the Alum Bank Fire Company. He retired from US Steel, as a Diesel Crane Operator, in January of 1981 after 30 years of service. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family will be received Monday, March 30, 2015 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Thacker officiating, at the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren.
Interment will be at the Ogletown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren at 195 Church Rd. New Paris, Pa 15554 or to the Home Nursing Agency (Hospice) at 201 Chestnut Ave. Altoona, Pa 16601.
