Elias Warren “Boy” Corle, 89, of Imler, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Nason Hospital.

He was born on March 31, 1927, in Imler, son of the late John Austin and Virgie Viola (Fickes) Corle.

On Feb. 2, 1945, he married Laura Jane (Way) Corle.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Shippy; sisters, Jennie Hengst; Ethel Stiffler; Iva Lingenfelter; Grace Walter; brothers, Lloyd Corle and Eugene Corle.

He is survived by his wife Laura of almost 72 years; daughter, Karen and husband John Redinger of Everett; son, Junior and wife Susan Corle of Bedford; son-in-law Warren Shippy, husband of the late Donna Shippy of Buffalo Mills; son, Rodney and wife Patsy Corle of Cessna; and daughter, Tammie and husband William Harbaugh Jr. of Alum Bank; 11 grandchildren, Christine Imler and husband Joseph Jr. of Bedford; Tina Baham of Bedford; Shelly Willison and husband Ted of Buffalo Mills; Michele Dibert and husband Dean of Everett; Melissa Snyder and husband John of Buffallo Mills; Harold Shippy of Bedford; Carrie Hartnett and husband Robert of Pittsburgh; Reggie Harbaugh and wife Jadee of New Paris; Megan Yarnell and husband Paul of Alum Bank; William Harbaugh III of Manns Choice; and Cody Corle of Bedford;19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; sisters, Mary Walter and Francis Stiffler; and a brother Robert Corle Sr.

Warren served in the United States Navy in World War II and obtained the rank of Seaman 1st class. At one time he was a member of the Fort Bedford Honor Guard and served as the Commander. He played baseball and was a noted All-Star pitcher for the Bedford County League. He coached Little league, and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball fan and enjoyed all sports. He loved hunting, fishing, his garden, and being outdoors. He got to attend and enjoy his last horse race before he passed. Warren really appreciated his friends and would do anything for anyone. He truly was one of a kind. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Interment will be at the Imler Valley Cemetery with full military honors.
