Douglas L. Murphy
New Paris
Douglas L. Murphy, 54, of New Paris, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center Windber Hospice.
He was born on February 21, 1970 in Bedford; son of the late Thomas Murphy and Maureen (Wright) Speicher.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul and Jim.
On September 8, 2001, he married Becky (Willey) Murphy.
Doug is survived by his wife, Becky; daughter, Maleah; sisters, Kelly Marcum, Angie Murphy; and step-father J.R. Speicher.
Doug was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore. He enjoyed running, hiking, kayaking, and weight lifting. He had the biggest heart and always made everyone laugh. Doug loved going on family beach vacations and he was the biggest Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Maleah; also, his nieces and nephews.
Doug had the biggest and kindest heart and would do anything for anyone. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
At his request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests to donate to the Cancer Society.
Interment will be at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
