Dora F. "Doris" (Dull) Holderbaum

Dora F. “Doris” Holderbaum, 94, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away peacefully Monday evening, August 15th at her home.

She was born April 4, 1922 in Bedford County, PA, the daughter of Harry K. and Daisie P. (Crawford) Dull.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl M. Holderbaum, and eight brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her sister Edna Hammer, son Rodney Holderbaum and wife Laura, daughter Kathy Gaffney and husband Michael, and grandsons Matthew Holderbaum and wife Marissa, David Gaffney, and Christopher Gaffney.

Dora grew up in Bedford County and started a career in hair styling shortly following graduation from high school.  After her marriage to Earl in 1942, she travelled extensively as Earl’s job took him to locations throughout the United States.  In 1960, they settled in Camp Hill, PA where Dora became actively involved in the Penn Cumberland Garden Club and the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE) women’s auxiliary.  She also served on Pomeroy’s Department Store Advisory Board.  In 1973, the couple relocated to Beaver Falls, PA and Dora soon found a “second career” arranging flowers at Snyder’s Flower Shop, putting her prior experience in the Penn Cumberland Garden Club to good use.  Dora and Earl returned to Camp Hill in 2005.  Dora will be sincerely missed by all of her family and friends, including the many friends she made at the Woods at Cedar Run.

Visitation will be held at Blackburn Funeral Home in Alum Bank, PA on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., followed immediately by a brief graveside service.
