Derek O'Neil Lehman
Alum Bank
Derek O’Neil Lehman of Alum Bank, was called to heaven on May 20, 2018, at the age of 29. He passed away fulfilling his relish for the outdoors riding a motorcycle Sunday evening due to chest injuries. Derek was born at Bedford Memorial Hospital on March 30, 1989 to mother, Carey Quarry(Lehman).
Derek's achievements reach beyond those written on a mere piece of paper, for his achievements were woven into the lives of others he instilled happiness in, and the services he gladly gifted to those in need. He found immense joy in the simplicities of friendly conversations and became a guardian of the community insuring the well-being of others were nothing less than that of merriment. His greatest achievements live within the people he illuminated daily with his love.
He aspired to be a man that reflected the standards of the traditional times. He was devoted to providing for his family and found pride in that role. His children bestowed him a purpose that overwhelmed him with accomplished. Derek had an undeniable passion for mechanics. The grease on his hands were a reflection of his innate skill for his lifelong hobby. He also had a fondness for nights surrounded by the glow of a crackling fire accompanied by the soothing sounds of country music. It was during these times he found his greatest contentment that was evidenced through his infectious smile.
Derek asked for so little but offered so much. He will always be remembered for his giving soul and affectious heart. His absence from this world will be difficult for many people.
