Colleen Jean Stutzman, 84, of Bedford, passed away March 14, 2017 at home.
She was born on February 28, 1933, in Bedford, daughter of the late Robert C. and Kathryn (Steele) Shaffer.
In Sept. of 1981, she married Jay Stutzman.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay; Step-daughter, Joyce Stutzman; and step-son, Bill Duncan.
She is survived by her children, Gwyneth of Bedford; Lori of Rainer, Oregon; Joseph Stutzman of Cumberland, Md; 4 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Dr. Joyce Shaffer of Seattle, Washington; Louise Copp of Georgia; and sister-in-law Tina Shaffer of San Diego, Ca.
Colleen was happiest caring for her grandchildren. She loved to color with them and play games. She was devoted to all of her kids. She didn’t know the meaning of no and they adored her. Colleen was a retired LPN caring for elderly patients for 17 years at Clites Guest Home. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and the Home Nursing Agency Hospice Program.
