Christine Diane Martin, 55, of Alum Bank, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Donahoe Manor, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.  

She was born on April 10, 1962, in Lincoln Twp., daughter of Kenneth Martin Jr. and Dorothy (Long) Martin.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Martin; brother, Melvin; sister, Tina; niece Adrienne Martin; and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her parents; brother, Kelvin married to the former Deb (Burkey) all of Alum Bank; brother, Galen married to the former Annie (Pcola) of St. Michael; also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, 4 nephews, several great nieces and great newphews, and many friends.

Christine was a 1980 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. She was a member of the Mt. Union United Methodist Church. Christine enjoyed shopping, working on plastic canvas, playing Yahtzee and she especially enjoyed being at work with her Cove Shoe Factory family for over 35 years. Christine was kind and a gentle person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, March 18, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday, March 19, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tai Courtemanche officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
