Cathy Kohler Obituary

 

Cathy R. (Whysong) Kohler, 67, of Pavia, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, March 6, 2021.

She was born on August 19, 1953, in Roaring Spring, PA; daughter of Roy and Glenda Whysong.

On December 16, 1972, she married John P.  Kohler.

She is preceded in death by her husband, who just past in September 2020, parents, sisters and brothers-in-law, Steve and Myrna (Whysong) Urish and Mike and Dorothy (Whysong) Foor, Father-in-law John F. Kohler, Sister by marriage, Peggy (Kohler) Claycomb.

She is survived by son, Johnny and wife Leeann (Mock) Kohler of Pavia; grandson, John Allen and wife Carly (Straub) Kohler; granddaughters, Marybeth and Kirsten; niece Leslie Urish, special “adopted” son Mike Feather;  brothers and sisters by marriage, David Kohler and companion Linda Weaver; Jim Kohler and wife Lori (Clark) Kohler; Regis Kohler and wife Ida (McIntyre) Kohler; Fred Kohler and wife Lisa (Hartland) Kohler;  Sue and husband Gregory Wingard; Jeffrey Claycomb; and many Kohler nieces and nephews.

Cathy started her working career at the Bedford Gazette.  She later helped to manage Babcock Lodge in Ogletown, PA where she planned and organized cooperate events for hundreds of people.   She retired as the manager at Physicians and Dentists Answering Service in Johnstown.  She started there as a switch board operator. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.  She was proud of all their accomplishments and was eager to meet her first great grandchild in August.  She was proud of her son and was always interested in what he was working on in his garage.  She loved her Mother and Father-in-Law, Pat Kohler of Bedford and the late John F. Kohler as her own. 

At the request of Cathy, there will be no funeral services.  As a way to remember John and Cathy, friends and family are welcome to attend a casual get together. It will be held at the Henry and Mary Dull Rec. Center located at 4114 Quaker Valley Rd. Alum Bank, PA,  March 11th, 2021.  Drop in from 6pm-9pm as a time to reflect and reminisce of memories of John and Cathy. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Mark Mock Memorial Park in Pleasantville, in her memory.  Cathy enjoyed watching her grandchildren play baseball and softball here.
