Betty Ruth Wentz, 91, formerly of Alum Bank, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Donahoe Manor.
She was born on July 28, 1925, in Alum Bank, daughter of the late Alice (Rock) Rowser.
On Sept. 4, 1943, she married Vernon Myrel Wentz in Berryville, Va, who preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1991.
She is preceded in death by her mother; husband; daughter, Dorothy Felix; son, Gary Wentz; granddaughter, Donna Miller; brothers, Ed Eichler, and Richard Eichler.
She is survived by her children, Bill Wentz and wife Linda of Fishertown; Pat Whetstone and husband Rodney of Manns Choice; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Harry Eichler of Fredericktown, Mo; Ted Eichler of Alum Bank; sisters, Helen Moreno of Saxonburg, Pa; and Nancy Shippy of Sharpsville, Pa.
Betty was a member of the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved working with her flowers. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Clifford Swankler officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at the Mock Church Cemetery.
