Betty Ruth Ickes, 94, of New Paris, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 14, 2023 at home.

She was born on August 7, 1929 in Somerset; daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Stern) Hemminger.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anson; daughter, Linda Dull; son, Lynn Ickes, and daughter, Lisa Ickes.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by the following children, Larry and wife Shelly Ickes of Imler; Patricia Wissinger of Fishertown; Perry Ickes of New Paris; Pamela Burkett of New Paris; 20 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. 

She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother. She loved her birthday parties and family time during the holidays. The family wants to give a special thank you to Leeann, Joe, Rachael, Nicole, from 365 Hospice and to Pastor Bob for singing and reading with her.
